Adrian Trenaman is a Principal Consultant at IONA Technologies, and specialises in CORBA and Web Services technologies. This session concerns the use of open source middleware for service oriented
architecture (SOA). For the SOA architect or developer wishing to build a
SOA-based system today, we will show the current options available, in
particular focussing on open-source implementations of ESB, CORBA and Java
EE. We will show the implications (both pros and cons) of building a SOA
using ESB and building a SOA using CORBA, comparing each in terms of
simplicity, technology adoption, performance and other factors.
